Neo-Assyrian cylinder seal impression from the eighth century BCE identified by several sources as a possible depiction of the slaying of Tiamat from the Enûma Eliš By Ben Pirard at nl.wikipedia, CC BY-SA 3.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=3217534This story is fascinating and primitive. It is the way that the people of time understood the creation and the reason that mankind exists.
I can see how the creation story in Genesis is similar and Bruce Gore does a good job of putting it in perspective from his Christian point of view. Personally I believe that the original story was just dusted off and updated to suit the needs and beliefs of the new era. Over the years it gets dusted and updated and now we have so many versions that we think that they are different. In specifics they are different but in general it is all the same story.
Check it out for yourself. It is not a long story but it is full of drama. I wonder about the part where the kids were too noisy so Dad decides to kill them so he can get some peace and quiet.
